Macquarie AM names Asia wealth distribution head
David Chang has over two decades of regional wealth management experience
The Asset   3 Mar 2025

Global asset manager Macquarie Asset Management ( Macquarie AM ) has appointed David Chang as its head of wealth distribution for Asia, a newly created role that the company says reflects the growing interest of Asian wealth management clients in its infrastructure and energy transition strategies.

Based in Singapore, Chang will work closely with the company’s global network to expand the business’ wealth offering in Asia, a region that has seen dramatic growth in the private wealth segment.

Chang brings over two decades of wealth management experience and joins the company from Lord, Abbett & Co, where he was the head of Asia for business development. In that role, he was responsible for business development, relationship management and capital raising across its investment strategies in Asia.

Before that, Chang led J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s private bank distribution, covering alternatives as well as fixed income, equities and multi-asset solutions. He has also held positions with Goldman Sachs in both the US and Asia.

“We are seeing significant demand from Asian wealth clients for access to alternative assets, as they seek to diversify their portfolios,” adds Kimberly LaPointe, Macquarie AM’s head of wealth. “Chang will play a key role in expanding our wealth strategies in Asia through existing and new partnerships with wealth management firms in the region.”
