Schroders 2024 operations use 100% renewable power
Achievement represents increase from 98% sourced by asset manager in 2023
The Asset   14 Oct 2025

UK-headquartered asset manager Schroders has reached its target of sourcing 100% renewable electricity for its global operations during 2024, an achievement that was verified by RE100, an independent global initiative led by the Climate Group, which brings together international businesses committed to using 100% renewable electricity.

This was an increase from the 98% sourced by the fund group in 2023. RE100 provides the stringent technical criteria to make renewable electricity procurement claims credible.

Electricity use from the company’s global owned and leased office footprint, it notes, accounts for approximately 80% of the firm’s operational greenhouse gas emissions. This accomplishment was achieved one year before the company’s committed target date of 2025.

This achievement, the company notes, helps to reaffirm its commitment to its operational climate strategy, which focuses on setting science-based emissions reduction targets and transitioning to low-carbon sources of energy.

The news follows the installation of 2,606 solar photovoltaic panels, expected to generate 1.13 gigawatt-hours per year, at the company’s Horsham Campus in 2024. The on-site solar installation meets nearly 25% of the campus’ annual power needs and includes the installation of 58 electric vehicle charging stations to support staff adoption of hybrid or electric cars.
