Allianz Global investors ( AllianzGI ) has launched a proprietary digital platform that provides access to environmental, social and governance ( ESG ) data.
The Sustainability Insights Engine ( SusIE ) is a web-based user interface that computes external ESG data from multiple providers as well as AllianzGI proprietary scores and research inputs.
The data are then cleaned, processed and standardized into one data set that is distributed to all consuming systems including front office, research, compliance, risk, and client reporting tools.
The engine was developed in-house by a dedicated sustainability methodologies and analytics team. Anticipating the significant growth in ESG data sources, the team was created in 2021 to develop the strategy and architecture to support transparent, robust and clear input of ESG, sustainability and climate factors.
“Asset managers are expected to help clients to show what is the most relevant use of the data specific to asset classes while meeting challenging regulatory demands,” says Matt Christensen, global head of sustainable and impact Investment at AllianzGI.
The firm will use its dedicated ESG data sets “to shape the most meaningful solutions and in so doing, demystify, inform and guide our clients on the most appropriate methodologies and analytics for targeted outcomes”, Christensen adds.
SusIE will be released at first for AllianzGI investment professionals.
