Constructing Oman’s first and largest utility scale renewable energy project

With an aim to encourage renewable energy development in the Middle East, special purpose vehicle borrower Shams Ad-Dhahira Generating Company alongside with its sponsors ACWA Power, the Gulf Investment Corporation and Alternative Energy Projects got together to construct a 500 mega-watt solar photovoltaics power plant in Ibri, Oman.

The Shams Ad-Dhahira Generating Company US$400 million Ibri II solar PV independent power plant (Oman) wins Middle East Deal of Year at The Asset Triple A Infrastructure Awards 2021. For the full list of Deals of the Year – Global please go here.
